Honouring dedication to Bon Accord MCC

As members will be aware, at the last AGM Bill McGregor and Di Stuart stepped down from their respective roles as Club President and Club Secretary. Thankfully, Bill has continued as Club Secretary, and Di has remained in the Treasurer role.

We couldn’t let their long periods of service go unrecognised. A couple of months ago, I was able to present Bill with a commemorative glass piece as a thank‑you for his 14 years as President.

It has taken a little longer to get Di’s thank‑you to her, so I went across to the Enduro this morning before it all kicked off to present her with her award. As a committee, we felt we should go a little further to honour her remarkable 42 years (and counting) of service on the Bon Accord club committee. Her contributions to Motocross and Enduro are well known and have been recognised by others, but Di is one of those rare individuals who remains totally committed to our sports and to BAMCC.

For that reason, the Club Committee has agreed to make Di only our second ever Honorary Life Member. It is a fitting recognition of her exceptional service to the club. The last Honorary Life Member was Jock Tawse back in the late 1990s. Di will continue on as Club Treasurer until she decides to stop.
